Booster Set Repair – Fixed to Variable Speed Conversion

Booster sets are often viable for repair rather than replacement. Whilst this option is often offered it is not always taken.

Recently, we completed this smart repair to a 3-pump fixed speed booster set at a site in Preston.

The existing set had a failed controller which meant the unit had been bypassed and a failed pump accumulator vessel; but other than that the set was in full working order. Therefore, we recommended to replace the control panel for variable speed and replace the vessel.

Our engineers Ben Brown and Andy Shelley completed these works in normal working hours as the unit had been bypassed. We modified the wiring and pipework to suit the new panel and vessel and utilised the existing framework.

The MAB panel is the ideal retrofit in this instance as the conversion to variable speed will provide valuable energy savings whilst extending the life out of this booster set for years to come.
