This install was carried out at a hotel in Bournemouth. This site had a Grundfos pump feeding several areas of the hotel but the actual application of the pump was somewhat of an unknown quantity. However, given the size of the building and the static head of the system, the pump was not fit for purpose. The hotel were having continuous problems and had been struggling on the single pump system for some time. PressBoost sized the system and looked at a number of options for the hotel. The most effective and cost efficient way of resolving the problems was to install a twin pump Lowara Teknospeed booster unit. The teknospeed unit has the benefit of two pump accumulator vessels and two inverter controlled pumps. This unit is specified to facilitate service and maintenance. As you can see from the pictures below the new unit is compact and easily slots into where the existing pump was, the existing pump was mounted to a piece of breezeblock. The new unit handles the hotels demand much better and the option of the two pumps is more reliable should one pump fail. The accumulator vessels offer a damping effect to aid the operation of the pumps, this helps to increase the longevity of the pumps. Having an inverter controlled system allows the hotel much more freedom to operate the system within different parameters as and when they wish. This is an example of how PressBoost can provide bespoke equipment to suit site specific requirements should the existing plant not be suitable. Also, should the hotel decide to increase in size, the Teknospeed will still be more than capable of coping with demand.
