Expansion Vessel Installations – Scotland

We recently swapped out these 200 litre and 500 litre Zilmet Expansion Vessels at a hotel in Prestwick. The existing vessels had failed on a recent service visit, unfortunately this fell after the site had missed a couple of service visits due to Covid and budget constraints.

Expansion vessels are critical to the operation of any system and the ongoing maintenance of them is critical. Without regular service and maintenance (not just flushing), expansion vessels lose their gas charge over time and are then not only not operating effectively, they are more susceptible to failure. Often neglected, expansion vessels pose serious safety risks if not properly maintained under the PSSR 2000 Regulations, Pressure Systems ACOP, Legionella Regulations and manufacturers guidelines.

The core of our business is statutory service and maintenance of all types of Pressurisation units, Booster Units and Expansion Vessels. We are competent persons under the PSSR 2000 Regulations and Expansion Vessels should only be serviced and maintained by competent persons.
