Manchester Pop-Up Cafe -Water Supply Solution
Out of the ordinary…
We recently completed this job working in conjunction with PumpCare at a site in Manchester City Centre.
The pop-up coffee shop in question does not have a fixed water supply, they had a diaphragm pump with 25-litre drums of water to get through the day. However, the diaphragm pump had burnt out and site wanted to explore a more permanent / practical solution.
We worked with site to provide a more suitable amount of stored water and a more permanent pumping application. Site asked us to keep the enclosure in the theme of the existing setup, so wooden base frame and paint the enclosure yellow!
We installed a 350-litre MDPE storage tank which site will monitor and fill as they need, providing at least 24-hours of water for the Café. We also installed a Calpeda Meta pump which is a product we recently started utilising and are really impressed with. To round off the install we treated the wooden frame, installed a new electrical feed from the local DB board including IP rated glands and a tubular heater for the pump shed to prevent freezing in the winter.
A very different job to our usual installation, in an attempt to make the housing blend in with the existing container as much as possible, but another successful outcome!
