New HL Hydronics Product Installed at North-West University

We recently installed this new product from HL Hydronics at a major North-West university. HL Hyrdonics recently launched the PD-X combined Pressurisation Unit and Degasser which we recently tested on a visit to Sweden.

Whilst completing a PPM visit at this university we found an existing combined Pressurisation Unit with a multitude of issues; presenting the first opportunity to install a PD-X. Given this unit has been problematic since install, site decided replace rather than repair.

Our engineers Carl Rogerson and Andy Shelley completed this installation once the student had finished for the summer to minimised disruption.

The PD-X is a valuable addition to the HLH line-up. Whilst retaining the same cabinet size it achieves active vacuum degassing, pressurisation control for up to 4MW systems and removal of magnetite with the MAG-Nus filter. As with the standard H-Line the PD-X utilises space saving polyethylene expansion tanks removing the need for costly safety valves and insurance inspections.

Finally the PD-X also introduces a water meter on the auto-fill functionality, allowing users to limit the amount of fresh water that can be injected into the system. It is imperative that we catch on in the UK to the damage that gasses within a system can cause and we will only fully realise the benefits of vacuum degassing if we closely control the system content.

The PD-X offers a cost-effective solution to active degassing and dynamic pressurisation and will provide a significant saving against competitors you may be already utilising.
