Xylem Hydrovar X 4-Pump Booster Set Installation

This was a brilliant project to finally get over the line. This replaced an ageing 5-pump set feeding an apartment block in Salford Quays.

The existing set was hanging on by a thread and had caused multiple water outages in the last 12 months. It was end of life and due for replacement.

We re-sized the set appropriately for the building and thanks to this and the Hydrovar X increased energy efficiency were able to drop it to a more appropriate 4-pump set.

We completed the works in normal hours in one day, during a planned water outage. This included modifying the DN150 pipework to DN100 and a 54mm bypass, new expansion bellows and isolation valves.

The Xylem Hydrovar X is a smart upgrade in this instance and provided the most cost effective solution for site.
