This installation was carried out for the Cheshire and Wirral Partnership at Macclesfield Hospital. The existing unit was a Baric Filler and was beyond economical repair. The unit had been modified several times over the years and was consequently no longer fit for purpose. The pump and system gauge were u/s and there were a number of intermittent faults with the controls. Both of the 300 litre expansion vessels were also u/s. Therefore, PressBoost replaced the whole unit with a Presfix Beta pressurisation unit and 2x 300 litre Zilmet expansion vessels. The Presfix beta benefits from digital controls, 2 pumps and also a 5 litre pump vessel to aid pump operation. The new expansion vessels are anchored to the floor to prevent topple and are fitted with isolation, drain and safety valves to facilitate servicing, as well as for protection. Please see before and after pictures below to highlight the condition of the ageing Baric unit, and the comparison to our installation.
