Here at PressBoost we pride ourselves on our ability to quickly respond to all enquiries and carry out the necessary work as soon as possible. This job in Folkestone is a site that we had not previously visited, they contacted us with a failing pressurisation unit that required urgent remedial works. Therefore, based on pictures that the engineer on site provided, we attended with a replacement pressurisation unit, pressure vessels and pipework within two days and reinstated their entire heating system. Please see pictures below that were sent to us prior to attending site:
As you can see, the vessels had plastic pipework installed (not ideal for heating vessels) which was distended due to heat (70/80 degrees centigrade) and clearly in need of modification. Access to pressurisation unit is limited and the unit itself was extremely dilapidated.
Upon further inspection, we found the pump burnt out, pipework corroded, pump vessel failed and Pressure switches u/s and unable to be set or tested.
The heating expansion vessels were found ok once drained and recharged, therefore, we simply re-piped them complete with the necessary isolation, drain and safety valves. We replaced the pressurisation unit with a twin pump, digitally controlled Lowara Presfix Beta MKII. As you can see from the pictures below, in contrast to the previous unit, the Presfix Beta is fully encapsulated to provide protection from the elements/surroundings.
