This job is a complete Booster unit and tank installation for Salix homes in Salford. The building is Fitzwarren Court, a 23 storey tower block from the 1970s. The previous tank was outdated and leaking and the Booster unit was dilapidated. The pump vessel was u/s and the pumps were consistently failing. The control circuit had many issues and was also failing. Therefore, the decision was made to replace the whole installation. PressBoost installed a 3 pump Lowara variable speed Booster unit. This unit is fail safe, each pump has its own vessel, transducer and inverter. This means that there is no single point of failure on the unit. The tank is fully by-law 30 approved and is fitted with a low water switch for pump protection. This tank also gives the building increased volume of water which was necessary given the size of the building. The variable speed aspect of the Booster unit gives the building multiple advantages to fixed speed. For example, it affords them a 30-50{546ee268ce7713d2b6d4f6ff974fadd45b4c551b6f43a7e80340ad9a7da26c27} energy saving, as well as providing the opportunity for remote access and monitoring should they require it. Please see the pictures provided to highlight the dilapidated state of the previous unit and the comparison with PressBoosts installation.
